It’s the 15th anniversary of your favorite Trail Run!

Don't Fence Me In Trail Run LogoJoin us on May 9, 2015, for the 15th anniversary of Helena’s favorite trail run! This event boasts a 30k, 12k, 5k and 5k dog walk. All events start and end in downtown Helena, but thanks to our trail system being so nearby, all courses are mostly on trails. In addition to being a great event, Don’t Fence Me In is a big fundraiser for Prickly Pear Land Trust, who maintains and expands the trail system on which the race is run. Costs are:

  • 30k – $60
  • 12k – $30
  • 5k – $30
  • 5k dog walk – $30 plus $5 per dog

NEW FOR 2015:
Trail-running film festival Friday,
Blackfoot party Saturday

As if running in PPLT’s Don’t Fence Me In trail run on Saturday isn’t enough fun, we’ve expanded the morning to become a Don’t Fence Me In weekend!

On Friday, May 8, we’re partnering with Helena’s Primitive Mechanix and the Helena Ultra Runner’s League to bring you one adrenaline-pumping, globe-trotting, world-class trail running film fest! Presented to you by Trails in Motion and supported by Trail Runner magazine, the 3rd Annual Trails in Motion International Film Festival showcases films from as far away as Japan.

The show is at 5:30 p.m. at the Montana Club. Don’t miss out. Click here to purchase tickets via UltraSignUp.com. First come, first served, only 120 seats available! Tickets are just $8. Any remaining seats (which aren’t anticipated) will be $12 at the door.

Then, after the race awards ceremony on Saturday, join us for a special after-party at the Blackfoot. CWG Architects and Blackfoot River Brewing have teamed up for the third Community Partnership to support PPLT and DFMI. The Blackfoot River Brewing team will be brewing the legendary “E-Trail” beer and it will be released at this post-race event at 12:30 p.m. Join us for the ceremonial serving of the first brew, music, door prizes, and food vendors.

RAISE PLEDGES TO SUPPORT YOUR FAVORITE LAND TRUST

Help us celebrate DFMI’s 15th anniversary! We strongly encourage you to solicit donations on behalf of the land trust because the trails and open space you’ll run on are maintained by Prickly Pear Land Trust. Please “go the extra mile” and solicit support from your family and friends. See our pledges page for information. A PPLT hoodie will be given for raising $100. If you raise $500 or more, a custom softshell jacket emblazoned with the Don’t Fence Me In logo will be yours to cherish. Raise at least $100 from 10 or more sponsors, and you’ll get a 10-beer punch card from Blackfoot River Brewing in addition to a jacket or hoodie, if you earn one. Most importantly you’ll be supporting Prickly Pear Land Trust. We’re taking the lead in connecting land and people. Now go hit up your friends for the trails you love! The fine print: Pledges must be collected and turned in to PPLT before you run. Please collect names and current address of pledgers so we can send them a tax deduction letter. We’re happy to do whatever we can to make pledge getting easy. Call us if you’d like any support, like logos or letterhead and whatnot. Thank you SO MUCH for your efforts!

Canine Competitors Welcome!

Dogs and dog lovers come on down and wag your tails for the trails you love at Pioneer Park on Saturday, May 9. Bring your leashes and get ready to hit the trails with your four-legged family members.

  • Race fee for dogs is $5 and our canine competitors are encouraged to collect pledges, too!
  • Dogs welcome on the 5k dog walk only.
  • All dogs must register to participate and be leashed at all times.
