Between S California Street and Saddle Drive lies Bull Run, a short trail cutting through the neighborhood. This path can make for a delightful post-dinner stroll, and is a great way to find some nature right by your house.

On the west side of Meatloaf Hill, Catch Up Trail is a rather flat trail that meanders around the water tank. Combine Catch Up with Meatloaf for a savory loop.

The DeFord Connector is a shortcut from the Rodney Ridge trails to the DeFord Trail or the Bicycle Course. Please watch out for potential cars as the connector leads to the road!

The Wakina Sky Bike Skills Course is a beginner-friendly way to test your skills on wheels. Alongside Wakina Sky Road, the circuit is a generally flat and straight-ish path surrounded by grass, but it does have opportunities to spice things up a little by going up and down a few ramps.

From the Old Shooting Range Trailhead, the Upper DeFord Universal Access Trail provides an accessible walking path for all users. Bikes are prohibited on the Universal Access Trail. About one mile out-and-back, this trail is a family-friendly excursion.

Located in west Helena, Spring Meadow Lake State Park is an urban park popular for swimming, fishing, and birdwatching. The park features a 0.8-mile nature trail. The flat path around Spring Meadow Lake is accessible year-round. From April 15 to October 15, a no-dog policy protects wildlife.

Centennial Park is located in central Helena between Carroll College and N. Last Chance Gulch. The park offers a 1.25-mile paved loop, playgrounds, and a dog park. This family-friendly park is a great place to enjoy dramatic views of Mt. Helena and Mt. Ascension.
