Northwest Passage contours along the northwest side of Mount Helena. To access the trail, park at the Tubbs Trailhead and climb the Swaney Trail for a quarter mile. Travel west  through meadows and old growth Ponderosas to the Road to Mars Trail. Northwest Passage can be combined with many westside trails for varying loops.
