Find reminders of the Gold Rush era and get a taste of the Far West on the Far East Trail.  A quiet experience crossing Lewis and Clark and Jefferson counties, this trail is ideal for those craving nature and history. Check out the ruins of an old mine entrance from 1886, back when Montana was not yet a state. Please do not enter or climb on the historical structures.
