Gone Fishing

For decades, Tim Moore has been the preeminent appraisal expert for Prickly Pear Land Trust, a relationship built on trust and unparalleled skill. His work has been critical in shaping the Helena area’s landscape, from his help on early acquisitions in the South Hills Trail System to more recent projects like Birdseye Ranch, Canyon Cattle, and the Avalanche Cultural and Conservation Easement.

For us, Tim’s specialty is the unique, highly scrutinized field of conservation easement appraisals, a product requiring finesse, deep market knowledge, and an understanding of the landowner-land trust dynamic. “Tim and the PPLT team have had a lot of adventures together. Tim can navigate mountain roads and sidestep rattlesnakes,” says Executive Director Mary Hollow. “His expertise has helped PPLT conserve approximately 10,000 acres. He is quite simply the best in the business in our region and he will be a friend for life.”

After 38 years, Tim is retiring, leaving behind a legacy of integrity and mentorship for the next generation of appraisers. The conservation community is profoundly grateful for his dedication, professionalism, and friendship. We wish him all the best as he embarks on new adventures, like fishing, world travel, and being the best granddad on the river.

Sarah Ryan is the communications and development manager at PPLT.

“For many years, I have had the privilege of working with Mary and the amazing staff at PPLT. I continue to fully support their mission of conserving the wonderful outdoor spaces around Helena. Many thanks to PPLT for your professionalism and your willingness to put your words and actions, along with your hearts, into service for our community. I will look back fondly on our adventures together! See you on the river!“
