In 2025, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Montana awarded more than $470,000 to fourteen nonprofits through its Blue Impact Grant program. The grants address the social and economic factors that play a role in health and wellness in communities across the state.
“We are deeply committed to improving the health and wellness of all Montanans by supporting the meaningful work of our community partners,” said BCBSMT President Lisa Kelley. “Together, we invest in efforts that improve health outcomes, expand access to care and strengthen communities throughout Montana.”
Prickly Pear Land Trust received $15,000 to support access to outdoor spaces and physical activity through the Don’t Fence Me In Trail Run and our Education Program. DFMI promotes healthy lifestyles and conservation by actively maintaining our trail system. Year-round education outreach in Helena and East Helena ensures that outdoor learning and physical activity are accessible to everyone in the community, regardless of age, ability, or income, by removing common barriers like cost and transportation.
Since 2014, BCBSMT has contributed $230,000 to supporting our work, expanding access to trails, open space, clean air and water, and education. Thanks to this transformative partnership, our work improves health and wellness for thousands of Montanans every day.
