The Individual Retirement Account (IRA) Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD) allows you to make a direct distribution from your IRA account to support Prickly Pear Land Trust. If you are 70½ or older, you may transfer up to $100,000 from your IRA to Prickly Pear Land Trust directly. These gifts are not taxable and qualify toward your required minimum distribution at age 72 or greater.
Gifts made from your IRA are not reportable as taxable income. At age 72 or greater your gift distribution qualifies toward your required minimum distribution (RMD) for the calendar year, which may lower your income tax burden. (Note: The RMD requirement has been waived for 2020)
Please contact Ingrid Lovitt, Development Manager, if you would like to be acknowledged for the gift. The transfer of your IRA distribution must be made directly by your plan administrator to Prickly Pear Land Trust by December 31 to qualify for that tax year.
